The Great Highland Bagpipe (GHB) is the most common bagpipe you will see, especially in Scotland but it is not the only type of bagpipe! Even I have a second bagpipe called a small pipe that is similar to the GHB. There are many more. Historically, it is thought that the bagpipe originated somewhere in the middle-east and in fact there are many variations there still being played. But, my instrument, the GHB is a descendent of designs that have existing in Scotland for hundreds if not thousands of years
